Making Abalone Soap

A group of soaps with text.

Abalone shells have always been a favorite material of mine for jewelry making. Though because they are too expensive, I did not buy them often. And having learned how endangered they are now, I may not buy them again anytime soon.

I do find their colors fascinating, so when I saw this fragrance called Abalone and Sea, I thought it would be interesting to try to make them as embeds with melt and pour soap, so that the shimmer of the Micas could be seen.

Below there is a link to the video of the making and also ingredient list. (Some of the ingredient links are affiliate links.)

Three oval-shaped, handmade soaps with swirls of purple, blue, and white, each featuring a gem-like centerpiece. Text over the image reads, Beautiful soaps by Glenda © 2020.
