Pistachio Macaron Soap

When we were kids, my dad would sometimes take us to the ice cream store on a weekend, in El Salvador. We were five children, so it was a fun outing. The name of the store was Pops, and one of my favorite ice creams flavors, besides chocolate, was pistachio. You could say I have a long history of liking pistachio flavored food. Macarons, on the other hand, is something fairly new to me. I only tried them for the first time as an adult, a few years ago. I admit they look very enticing: delicate and smooth. However, my expectations were too high when I tried one, I found it flavorless and lacking something. I did try baking them once, and I actually liked those better, though they did not look the part. They were sweet and addictive though.

In this soap I tried to bring these two food items together. You can order yours here.

Below is the video of the making and supplies used.

Mold

(I used both as I was testing two fragrances, the 8″ did not get full to the top though.)

I used 20 oz of soap batter for the small mold, the rest for the larger mold.

Colorants

1/2 tsp Titanium dioxide *from Make your own or Titanium Dioxide from Nurture Soap*, this was added to 10 oz of the soap mix

Fragrance

Unfortunately none of the fragrances I used are available for purchase any more. This one sounds very similar though:
