Made to order Soaps

Sample of custom soap

Lately I have been experimenting with making small batch soaps, which for me it means a batch of soap that produces 4 soap bars instead of the usual 9 or 7 from my larger molds.

One advantage this brings to my customers, is that it allows me to offer custom soaps without a minimum quantity order. The fragrance, color and decoration can be customized, which I think is great for both personal use or gifts. You can order a custom men soap here or a custom women soap here.

An advantage for me is that with the small molds, I can test how a fragrance behaves before committing a large amount of material. I can also experiment a technique or idea and perfect it at a small scale.

Case in point is this soap, for which I was testing the fragrance Paramour from Lone Star Candle. I wanted to see if any discoloration would occur, so I left the bulk of it uncolored. It did behave well in this simple design soap, I did not see any acceleration. My husband told me that he liked it (it is a men scent). So that was a plus. To me, it smelled good only after curing, I had my doubts about it prior.
