Spin Swirl Soap

Spin swirl soap in primary colors, strong colored soap
Spin Swirl Soap red, blue, yellow and green

This soap is another one that my husband did while infected with the soap bug (sadly, he has since recovered and gone back to his RC wing building hobby).

He had watched several videos and wanted to try these two:

The spin swirl technique from Brambleberry: and the circles swirl video from Yvonne

Additionally, we used wooden stirrers to create more swirls as we lacked an appropriate rotating surface (a lazy Susan) for the spin swirl.

When we made this soap, I had a multi-batch of oils already blended, which is my usual recipe. While long lasting, this recipe is not suitable for intricate designs or long pours. So, I added more fluid oils I had on hand to make it into a more slow moving/slow tracing recipe.

Equipment and Supplies:

In addition to the standard equipment I normally use, we used condiment/ ketchup bottles from Dollar Store. However, for the spin swirl they are really not needed, long funnel pitchers work as well. Initially, he was leaning to doing the circles swirl, but we changed our minds last minute.

Mold:

The mini slab mold you see is just a frame he put together with wood, and I lined it with a plastic folder, like the one described here.

Colorants:

1 tsp Trial by Fire Mica (Nurture Soap aff link)

1 teaspoon Klein Blue Mica  (Nurture Soap aff link)

1 tsp of Banana yellow mica

1 tsp Lily pad green mica

Fragrance:

2 oz of Comfort and Joy (Nurture Soap aff link)
