Gemstone soap with Lapis Lazuli

I wanted to revisit doing a soap with lapis lazuli since my previous attempt did not turn out as I envisioned. I also needed to recycle my soap scraps from the Curl Challenge Soap, so here we are!

I made some new lapis lazuli embeds, with a similar process to the turquoise soap embeds. However, if your soap dough has a harder consistency, like polymer clay, this process might work better.

Since this would be more a mosaic / confetti soap style, I decided not to color the main soap batter. This recipe turns into a light colored soap and it does look off white in the final product.

Below are links to the supplies / recipe I used:

Colorants

*Mix of glitter and micas to sprinkle on top. I used:

  1. Pale gold mica which BB no longer carries, but Gold enigma comes very close.
  2. Snowflake Sparkle mica
  3. Super Sparkles Enviroglitter (The nurture soap links are affiliate links).

You will also need some chopped soap pieces (ideally kept in sealed bag) and optionally, Chopped clear Melt and pour with glitter for the top.
