Shaping Pine Trees

There are so many ways of making pine trees as there are probably varieties of them. I made most of these by hand, but I will include a list below with tools you could use.

My first attempt at a pine tree was for a Christmas Village soap, and it was a plain cone shape with “snow” added for a winter effect:

Recently, I tried my hand at it again, and came up with these:

Small pine trees made in different shapes with soap dough or moldable soap

However, once I run out of my sturdy, well made soap dough, the above designs were not feasible because the only green soap dough I had left, were from an experiment, in which the water amount was too high, and my soap dough was very soft and sticky. So sticky I could not roll it to cut shapes out of it. So I opted to just individually shape teardrops (you just try to roll a ball and make a pointy end on top), and attach it to a triangular green background made with the same soft soap. I ended up liking them better once the ornaments and glitter were added:

I also found another way to make a tree with soap dough that has more body, (Not sticky but that is on the more firm side instead). It is a plain triangular shape, with diagonal cuts made with a wavy blade. (aff link) (They are the ones in the center above).

You will see these trees later on my Christmas tree soap, which I am looking forward to sharing.
