Orange and vanilla happen to be one of my favorite fragrances and flavors. I bought this fragrance from Lone Star Candle Supply and I had yet to try it. It is on the subtle spectrum, but it does smell very nice. It does discolor a lot, so I did not make any big plans for the design. I left a portion without fragrance and colored it with orange mica. I used too little mica though, you can barely tell is orange. And, it seems the discoloration of the fragrance is bleeding into this portion.

Before attempting the soap, I got curious as to who came up with the idea of creamsicles, and I found it was not a straightforward answer. As per this page, Frank Epperson came up with the idea for popsicle and patented it. Having made one by accident when he was a boy (left his drink outside overnight, and it was frozen the next morning.) However, creamsicles have an ice cream core, which is something that Chris Nelson invented. Though he originally made it with chocolate. The story can be found here, he came up with the idea after seeing a little boy struggle to make a decision between buying chocolate or ice cream at his shop. So he thought, why not put them together, but it was not as easy as it seems. It is a long story, but after some lawsuits and acquisitions, Unilever now owns both popsicle and creamsicle patents.

All of this ice cream talk makes me think of Summer. And now I am looking forward to it!
Here is a link to the recipe from the lye calculator page I use.

After several months, the vanilla discoloration spread to the portion I had colored lightly with orange:
