These were fun and easy to make. If you have some yellow soap dough, give them a try. I plan to use these on a soap that I will make using the fragrance Monkey farts. (Which I bought since it seems to be popular, however, I was not very impressed). This is part of my fruit stand series, coming up I will post about the strawberries and peaches.
If I remember correctly, I used Bee Lyata’s recipe number 13 (from the book that has 20 recipes, which I think it’s her second book).
The recipe had coconut oil, lard, olive oil and cocoa butter. Before, I was using the recipe that also had shea butter (possibly #5) but I had run out of shea butter. I really like the consistency of this one. However, the shea I was using before was old, but I got myself a new bucket from BA, which was the lowest price I could find.
The bananas were easy to make, just rolling a snake, tapering the ends, flattening one side and squeezing together. The tricky part is adding just a tiny black dot on the end for realism, but that’s optional. I have found that my hours of playing with polymer clay are reaping benefits now with soap dough.
